Sometimes I am jealous of Converts.
As a cradle Catholic, I have never experienced the questions, the longing, the wondering, the seeking a loving God. I am struck by the amount of intentional thoughts and actions required for conversion. Some converts are people who have long disagreed with a particular Church teaching only to in the end conclude that the Church was on the right side of Truth all along. "I am the way and the truth. " Jn 14:6
Last year there were over 30,000 converts into the Catholic Church at Easter.
And that’s another thing, as a cradle catholic I don’t get to experience the wonder and joy of being welcomed into my catholic community at Easter. What a Holy Moment!
My joy is in my community, but that personal resurrection seems awesome!
