I had to share

November 1. All Saints Day.

"What is your connection to the saints? Is it your name? Your parish? Today is a perfect day to stop and consider your connection to the saints. My mother gave me, at least my middle name, for her favorite saint, St. Anthony. I still have strong memories of the five of us invoking St. Anthony’s name when trying to find Mom’s car keys, which seemed like an everyday occurrence when I was growing up. Whether you are named for a saint or not, I say we all have the potential to be a saint, or at least to be  “saintly.”. Saintly behavior is something we aspire to. "

Our society today is in dire need of saintly behavior. While Nelson Mandela may not be an official “saint,” he quite clearly demonstrated saintly behavior. Mandela said, “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” At St Pius X, we strive to teach and model the Gospel message of love as shown to us by Jesus. The world has always needed this message, and our time is now.

“Press on toward the goal,” as St. Paul urged us. As we all press on toward our goals, both on earth and in Heaven, let us invoke the examples of the saints that have gone before us to inspire the actions that lie ahead of us.

Tomorrow, All Souls Day, we honor those who we mourn those who were our SAINTS on earth, but are now sharing eternal life in heaven with Our Lord, God.

SAINT  Pius X, pray for us !
